National Geographic Traveller (UK) Reader Awards

Reader Awards 2016

A big thank you to all our readers for helping us bring together your favourite destinations, airlines, tour operators and more for 2016.

Here at National Geographic Traveller, we know you’re a well-travelled bunch, and we’ve spent the past few months gathering your opinions. With a host of new categories this year, including rail journey and family travel company, you replied in your thousands, and now we’re delighted to bring you the winners.

At the event celebrity chef and TV presenter Kiran Jethwa hosted the awards at Le Méridien Piccadilly in London on 29 November, which was attended by some of the travel industry’s top executives and senior figures.

Our Outstanding Contribution to Travel Award went to Michael Palin, a worthy winner, while British Airways and New York were among others singled out at the National Geographic Traveller Reader Awards 2016, in association with Qatar Tourism Authority.

A huge congratulations to all of our winners and finalists, and a huge thanks again to all those who took part.

Pat Riddell, editor of National Geographic Traveller (UK)
