Travel video of the week: Nepal

Over a year after the calamitous earthquake of Nepal, the locals of this compelling nation are more hospitable than ever

“They are united to work together to overcome the crisis. I have seen families working together to clean the rubble and to improve their thin shelters. I have seen child labor, homeless kids for whom life is still a challenge. The earthquake shook the ground but never people’s beliefs. It has certainly set them back but has not taken away their dignity and solidarity. They might have been left with nothing but they are more welcoming than ever.”

The creator of this video, Black Pencil, urges that the best way to help the people of Nepal is to visit, instead of just donating money.

The video was shot on a Samsung NX1 paired with 16-50s lens. You can contact Black Pencil on Vimeo
