We’ve stumbled upon James Bernal’s visual travel diary of his travels through the tropical Caribbean island of Cuba.
“We spent some time traveling through Cuba, hearing stories, watching innumerable sunsets, petting street dogs, riding in 60 year old cars, eating rice and beans, and meeting family we never knew we had. This is just a visual travel diary of some moments we witnessed.”
Shot on a Canon 5D MkII with a 35mm f/1.4, the Chicago-based videographer takes us through the enchanting country from Havana to the verdant heartlands.
The music, by Afro-Cuban singer and musican Ibrahim Ferrer who was once part of Buena Vista Social Club, tells of the Cuban tradition guateque campesino: rural celebrations held by the country’s farmers.
