Submit 500 words in advance of The Masterclasses and receive a 20-minute, one-on-one session with one of our editors or writers. They’ll offer advice and help on improving your travel writing, as well as hints and tips on becoming a better writer. You’ll receive more information on submission closer to the event.

Nicola Trup, associate editor, National Geographic Traveller (UK)
Having worked on titles such as The Independent and Evening Standard, experienced travel journalist Nicola knows exactly what to look for in a standout story. @nickytrup
Kate Simon, travel writer and editor
Kate has been a journalist for over 30 years, having served as The Independent on Sunday‘s travel editor from 2005 to 2011. She now uses her editorial experience to co-run SEO PR service, Traveltappers.
Anna Melville-James, travel writer
A travel writer for nearly 20 years, Anna’s portfolio spans publications from National Geographic Traveller (UK) to Mail on Sunday and Stylist. She has also written and edited three Michelin guides to Sicily, Italy and London. @amelvillej

Photography tutorials with The Nikon School
Want an extra in-depth critique of your imagery? Book a one-on-one tutorial with a photographer from The Nikon School, who’ll be able to offer tips and tricks, and give invaluable feedback on your work. Don’t forget to bring your camera and images.
Meet the photographers:
In the photography industry for over a decade, Ricci knows camera technology like the back of his hand, and his favourite genres are wildlife, landscapes and astrophotography.
A camera fanatic since the age of 11, Adrian’s career has spanned several decades. He has photographed all over the world and has particular expertise in portrait, travel and lifestyle photography.
With a background in video production, Bruno has directed multiple music videos and documentaries and has extensive knowledge of both photography and videography. He is an expert on all types of equipment, from lenses to lighting.
Peter has been in the business for the past 10 years, with his strong interest in action photography coming from a love of motorsports. Travelling the world with work has also led him to develop experience in landscapes.
Tutorial tickets: £25. One-on-one tutorial sessions are 20 minutes long. Tutorial session tickets can only be purchased with one of the general tickets and aren’t for individual sale. Tutorial sessions are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are non-refundable. You’ll be allocated a time slot for your tutorial session at a time nearer to the event. Please note that attending a tutorial session may result in missing a small part of a group session.
