The Bear Grylls Festival is all about getting together with friends and family. Expect gourmet pop-up food stalls and a fully licensed bar, as well as craft shops and bush survival demonstrations on the main stage. Plus, there’ll be a host of festival entertainments for all ages, including a bungee jump, Water Zorbs, Segway rides, live music, Parajet flying shows, falconry and more…
Eat insects with National Geographic Traveller and Grub
At the National Geographic Traveller
stand we’ll be giving away prizes and putting on activities for all the family across both days. Plus, we’ve teamed up with edible insect company Grub to put on bushtucker trials. Have you ever tried worms in your salad or grasshoppers in your stir-fry? Well this is your chance. Visit the stall to sample roasted crickets, before fuelling up on Grub’s energy bars made with cricket powder.
We’ll also be running an Instagram competition to win prizes from Hydro Flask, the maker of quality, vacuum-insulated bottles and flasks. Plus, look out for the famous Hydro Flask Beer Pong competition.
A series of 5k, 10k and 30k Survival Races see participants take on ultra-dynamic obstacles all inspired by the adventures of Bear Grylls. Kids can also get in on the action in The BG Kids Race, open to ages 4-13.
The races cover a range of challenging survival scenarios, including jungle, mountain, desert and arctic environments. And with all manner of physical and psychological obstacles to overcome, this is not just ‘another muddy run’.
