Travel to the heart of Sri Lanka through rolling tea hills and rice paddies, spot elephants in Yala National Park and try a curry cooking class.
Rickshaw Travel has teamed up with National Geographic Traveller (UK) to offer you the chance to win an extraordinary 11-night travel experience to Sri Lanka for two.
This beautiful island is bursting with magical culture that belies its modest size with sun-drenched beaches, rolling green scenery and elephants — lots of elephants. This exotic escape will combine a collection of Rickshaw Travel’s top ‘bite-size’ trips to ensure the winner and their guest have a very special Sri Lankan experience.
The trips will include staying with a local family and learning to cook a tasty Sri Lankan curry, taking a tranquil train ride through the rolling tea hills and rice paddies, exploring the Emerald Valleys of Ella, visiting the wild heart of Yala National Park to spot elephants and crocodiles on safari, whale spotting in Mirissa, and a short stay in the bustling, modern capital of Colombo.
Rickshaw aims to bring travellers closer to the communities, culture and lives of local people, and supports a local project in each of its featured destinations. In Sri Lanka, Rickshaw Travel champions the Rainbow Centre, a grassroots project which provides welfare, education, medical care and support to children living in poverty across southwestern Sri Lanka.
The winner and a guest will win an 11-night holiday to Sri Lanka, comprised of a collection of Rickshaw Travel’s top ‘bite-size’ trips. The prize includes international flights, private transport with an English speaking driver, standard accommodation, some meals and all excursions.
